KD Fasteners Inc.’s line of Nitronic 60 hex nuts are the ideal fasteners for fighting wear and galling while remaining an economical option.
These hex nuts allow for frequent assembly and disassembly without thread being torn and eliminates corroded or frozen fasteners. Additionally, they are corrosion and high temperature resistant.
Also known as alloy 60, Nitronic 60, is a chrome, manganese and nickel-based alloy bearing properties of high nickel alloys.
Compared to other stainless-steel grades, Nitronic 60 offers better chloride pitting resistance. Due to its grain structure, the galling resistance of Nitronic 60 is superior to that of any stainless steel. It resists wear, tearing or freeze-up of both the primary and contact materials over a wide range of service temperatures. It also has an oxidation resistance similar to 309 stainless steel and far superior to 304 stainless steel.
Nitronic 60 is strong in temperatures of up to 1800°F. It is made stronger with cold working and is fully austenitic after severe cold working.
